VISKING DIALYSIS MEMBRANES – MAS 3012

DTV.12000.02 Size No.2 (0,03mm, 18/32in or 14.3mm,30m)

are made from natural cellulose (cotton linters) by dissolving it in special inorganic solvents and reforming the polymer by removing the solvent to form flat sheet, tubular or hollow fibre membranes. The material has the elastic and flaccid characteristics of a gel when wet with water. Regenerated cellulose, like its parent native cellulose, is quite resistant to organic solvents, elevated temperatures and extremes of pH.

IMPURITIES AND TRACE ELEMENTS:

The membranes, which are supplied dry, contain glycerine which acts as a humectant to prevent brittleness. This must be removed before the membranes can be used.

All membranes contain the following trace impurities:

  • 0.1% sulphur
  • Calcium <0.02 ppm
  • Chromium 0.1- 0.2 ppm
  • Copper 0.8 – 1.2 ppm
  • Iron 20 – 60 ppm
  • Lead 2.0 – 6.0 ppm
  • Magnesium 0.1 – 0.3 ppm
  • Nickel 1.3 – 1.7 ppm
  • Zinc 1.5 – 5.0 ppm
